  DNS

  Domain Name System.
  
  Its purpose is to help users find their way around the Internet by using domain names (like yourwebsite.com) instead of IP addresses. The DNS translates domain names (which are easier to remember) into IP addresses (which Web servers still need to access the page). Every
  time you use a domain name, therefore, a DNS service must translate the name into the corresponding IP address.
