META Tags
Provide information about a Web page. Some search engines,
such as AltaVista, use spiders that index Web pages based on
meta tags- so typical uses of Meta tags are to include
information for search engines to help them better categorize a
page.
META tags are placed in the HEAD element, and the most used
ones are keywords and description. The information in the META
tags doesn't appear on the Web page itself, but you can see it
if you view the source code.
